The Centre for Economic and Social Development (CESD) in Azerbaijan has been included in the list of host partner organisations for the Centre for East European Language-Based Area Studies (CEELBAS) in the UK. Agreement was reached between CESD and CEELBAS in August 2012 (http://www.ceelbas.ac.uk/internships/).

On 18 June, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs from Russia, France and the US met the Azerbaijani and Armenian Foreign Ministers in Paris. The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) shares the disappointment expressed by the three Co-Chairing Presidents – Vladimir Putin, Barack Obama and François Hollande – at the G20 summit yesterday in Los Cabos, Mexico, and supports their recommendations.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron has acknowledged the ongoing role of Azerbaijan in ensuring the future of international energy security. The statement was issued to mark the opening of the 19th Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition in Baku. He commented: “Azerbaijan is at the heart of a region whose energy resources will play a vital role in the world economy in the years to come. On 17 May in Baku, Ambassador Roland Kobia, Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, held a press conference. This was dedicated to the 62nd anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, and the publication of the Progress Report on Azerbaijan within the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy.

The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) welcomes the very positive statements by Ambassador Kobia, who underlined the important work and achievements undertaken by Azerbaijan within the EU–Azerbaijan Action Plan.
