Press Release: Around 100 business leaders, diplomats and professionals met in Baku on 6 July during the Business Forum France–Azerbaijan–Turkey: Three Countries, One Partnership. This provided them with the opportunity to share their knowledge on sustainable city development and agriculture and learn about the prospects for co-operation in the Azerbaijani market.


Press Release: Azerbaijani classical pianist Saida Zulfugarova, who is no stranger to the stage of the Sorbonne, has duetted with Sahib Pashazade – a leading exponent of the Azerbaijani tar – to dazzle more than 200 Parisian musical connoisseurs with a concert entitled Les Traditions en mode classique. The concert took place on 8June in the historical Amphitheatre of La Sorbonne, named after Cardinal Richelieu, its most prominent student and later headmaster.


Press Release: The forthcoming Baku2015 European Games – to be hosted in the Azerbaijani capital from 12–28 June ­– were celebrated during the opening of the Azerbaijan – Sport in Focus exhibition at the Maison du sport français (French House of Sport) in Paris on 4 June.


Press Release: Leading Azerbaijani jazz pianist Emil Afrasiyab has dazzled 380 jazz aficionados in Paris with his dexterity and innovation on the second night of the prestigious 15th Festival Jazz à Saint-Germain-des-Prés. On 29 May, the audience included H.E. Elchin Amirbayov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to France; bass guitarist Kyle Eastwood, son of legendary film star Clint; author Michel Contat, a leading literary and jazz critic; and Alain Kassimatis, the renowned jazz producer.


Press Release: On 13 May, more than 200 French business leaders had the invaluable opportunity to update their knowledge of the tremendous prospects in the Azerbaijani market – particularly in the non-oil sector – during the second Business Forum TEAS France–Azerbaijan. Organised by the French office of The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) and Business France, the event was hosted in central Paris at the prestigious Hôtel de l’Industrie, Siège de la Société d’Encouragement pour l’Industrie Nationale.


Press Release: The strength of Dutch–Azerbaijani relations was acknowledged during the inaugural Netherlands–Azerbaijan Business Forum on 23 April at the renowned Maastricht School of Management (MSM), organised by MSM, The Province of Limburg, The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS), AZPROMO and the Netherlands Council for Trade Promotion (NCH). Around 250 delegates attended the event, including more than 50 Azerbaijani business leaders drawn from all sectors of the country’s economy.


Press Release: On 23 March, over 250 diplomats, deputies, journalists and celebrities packed the late 19th century neo-renaissance Villa Pellé – one of Prague’s most renowned arts and cultural spaces in the diplomatic corner of the city. The opening was organised by The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) with official endorsement from the Czech Parliament.


Press Release: On 12 March, the French office of The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) and the National Museum of Sport in Nice inaugurated the photographic exhibition Azerbaijan – Sport in Focus, organised with the support of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) and Baku 2015 European Games Organising Committee (BEGOC). To be hosted from 12–28 June, the European Games will feature 20 sports – 16 of which are Olympic disciplines. It is thought that more than 6000 athletes from over 50 countries will be hosted in Baku.


Press Release: Azerbaijan’s forthcoming hosting of the inaugural European Games has been placed firmly in the spotlight at the opening of a new exhibition in London’s prestigious OXO Gallery on the South Bank of the Thames. Opening on 27 February, the Azerbaijan – Sport in Focus exhibition showcases 65 out of 300 photographs from over 50 photographers in 10 countries submitted for a competition of the same name.
