Press Release: On the evening of 3 September, around 200 international delegates at the 17th International Conference on Turkish Linguistics (ICTL), hosted at the University of Rouen in France, had a rare treat to hear a concert of Azerbaijani, Turkish and French classical music, sponsored by the French office of The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS).

Press Release: Sponsored by The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS), an Azerbaijani–Turkish ensemble of leading jazz musicians, led by Azerbaijani pianist and composer Salman Gambarov, closed the 21st Istanbul Jazz Festival on 16 July. Mr Gambarov and Bulgarian–Turkish singer Yildiz Ibrahimova collaborated with some of the foremost names of Turkish jazz to treat the audience of over 750 people to an unforgettable concert. The festival was organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV).

Press Release: On 27 June, The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) organised a landmark Gala Charity Boxing Match at York Hall – the home of East London boxing.

The match featured Repton – the UK’s oldest and most respected boxing club – against an Azerbaijani team from the Gabala Sports Club. The evening was compered by the legendary Gary Newbon – the face of ITV sport for nearly 40 years – and who is now a mainstay of Sky Sports’ presenting team. Sky Sports broadcast live interviews from the event.

The country is a member and partner to numerous pan-European institutions and has also recently taken over the chair of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. Recognising that this is a pivotal time, The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) organised a landmark information seminar on 19 June at its office, located in the diplomatic sector of Brussels.

Press Release: More than 200 guests attended the opening of an emotionally-charged exhibition focusing on the stark faces of some of the estimated 875,000 Azerbaijani refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) – the ongoing victims of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict – in the 14th Century Tophane-i Amire Culture and Arts Centre (Mimar Sinan University) in Istanbul on 5 June 2014.

Press Release: On 8 April, over 300 diplomats, deputies, journalists and celebrities  – including famed soprano Anna Netrebko – packed the historic Dvorana room of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic in the heart of Bratislava for the launch of the Azerbaijan Through the Lens exhibition. This was organised by The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS), under the auspices of Marek Maďarič, Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic.
