TEAS Press becomes official distributor for Oxford University Press ELT publishing in Azerbaijan

Press Release: Oxford University Press (OUP), the largest university publisher in the world, has appointed TEAS Press as its official distributor of English Language Teaching (ELT) materials in Azerbaijan. The decision to collaborate was made following the 11th ELT Sales Conference for Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa held in Turkey during February. The collaboration of OUP and TEAS enables OUP to distribute ELT materials to various audiences in Azerbaijan, thereby enriching the lives of teachers and students.

The collaboration between OUP and TEAS was announced by Tale Heydarov, Chairman and Founder, TEAS, and Simon Mavin, ELT Sales and International Development Director, OUP, at an official launch event on 15 May.

On 16 May, Bill Bowler and Angela Buckingham, two of the most experienced ELT trainers from OUP, will introduce Azerbaijani educators to the full range of ELT materials. The trainers will deliver a workshop on 16 May to teachers at educational institutions, including universities and public and private schools. Shaping learning together, OUP’s trainers will work with Azerbaijani educators, introducing them to such materials as Family and Friends for young learners of English, and Solutions, Headway, and English File, aimed at secondary-to-adult learners. The workshop will help educators consider how they may use these materials in their classrooms to develop students’ English-language skills.

OUP has a long history of ELT publishing, including the Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary – one of the first dictionaries for learners of English – in the 1940s. Today, OUP is internationally recognised as a global leader in ELT publishing. Simon Mavin, Sales and International Development Director, ELT Division, commented: “At OUP, we believe that education changes lives for the better, and we are delighted that teachers and students in Azerbaijan will be able to benefit from our materials through our collaboration with TEAS.”
