Press Release: TheFestival Musique de Chambre à Giverny, which takes place each year in the Normandy region of France, paid tribute to Azerbaijani classical music as a part of the main theme of its 13th edition, which was La Route de la Soie (The Silk Road). The festival, which took place from 17­−27 August, comprised 11 concerts and a conference. The French office of The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) supported the event.

Press Release: On the evening of 4 July, as much of the world was celebrating American Independence Day, Armenian armed forces illegally located in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan deliberately targeted Azerbaijani civilians in the Fizuli region with heavy mortars and grenade launchers.

Sahiba Guliyeva (50) and her two-year-old granddaughter Zahra Guliyeva were killed, and other civilians were severely wounded. Azerbaijani armed forces evacuated the casualties, but could not save the two Guliyevas.

Press Release: Designated as World Refugee Day in 2000 by the UN to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the passing of the 1951 UN Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, 20 June is acknowledged across the world as the day to remember the dispossessed, those unfortunate victims of conflict and war across the world. At present, refugees from such conflicts in Syria and Ukraine, and the subsequent pan-European migration crisis, have come in to stark focus.

Press Release: Azerbaijani Republic Day ranks amongst the most important holidays in the Azerbaijani national calendar, for that day commemorates the achievements of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR). Press Release: On 29 May, at part of the commemorations for the end of World War II, a landmark documentary about a lesser-known battle of the war was screened in the apposite location of the Musée de l’Armée in the Hôtel National des Invalides, built in baroque style from 1671–78, and home to Napoleon’s tomb. The event was staged with the support of the French office of The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS), the Azerbaijani Embassy to France and Evropa Film Akt (EFA).
