Press Release: Internationally acclaimed Azerbaijani pianist Elchin Shirinov brought his unique approach to ethno-jazz to the Festival Jazz à Saint-Germain-des-Prés Paris – one of the leading European jazz festivals – on 27 May. His trio performed in front of over 200 Parisian music aficionados, critics and H.E. Elchin Amirbayov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to France.
Press Release: The French city of Reims, located 143km from Paris, hosted an event featuring an enthralling mix of Azerbaijani business, culture and music on 26 May. This was hosted by the CCI Reims-Eperney, and organised by the French office of The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS), in partnership with Jazzus Productions, CCI International Champagne-Ardenne and the Azerbaijani Embassy to France.
Press Release: The respected Lyon-based TV channel Euronews has facilitated an exchange of views between Azerbaijani and Armenian representatives in the battle of ideas over the legal ownership of Nagorno-Karabakh. An estimated 350 million households in 155 countries watch the channel.
The brief was to produce a 600-word article and a two-minute video setting out the legal case for legal ownership of Nagorno-Karabakh. The two organisations tasked with making these presentations were The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) and the European Friends of Armenia.
Press Release: In the grand finale to the Royal Windsor Horse Show, held on the grounds of Windsor Castle, a team of 15 Azerbaijani Karabakh horses and the famed Fikrat Amirov Azerbaijan State Song and Dance Ensemble performed in front of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II. The whole extravaganza on 11–15 May 2016 had been laid on to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. On behalf of the Azerbaijani delegation, H.M. Queen Elizabeth II has been presented with the gift of a painting by Sakit Mammadov, an Honoured Artist of Azerbaijan.
Press Release: No fewer than 15 glorious purebred Karabakh Horses participated in this year’s Royal Windsor Horse Show, held in the grounds of Windsor Castle to celebrate the 90th birthday of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, a renowned horse-lover. The event took place from 11–15 May, and the Azerbaijani participation was organised by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Azerbaijani Equestrian Federation (ARAF) and The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS).

On 9 March, the immensely moving independent documentary Endless Corridor – a US/Lithuanian co-production – was shown at the long-established multi-disciplinary Parisian literary arts hub known as L’Entrepôt, commemorating the victims of the Khojaly Massacre on 26 February 1992. This was the worst single atrocity of the Armenian–Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and claimed the lives of 613 civilian victims. This short report contains reminiscences from H.E.
Press Release: On 9 May – known as Victory Day across the post-Soviet world – Philadelphia-born Jeffrey Werbock, President, Mugham Society of America, celebrated the joy and passion of Azerbaijani mugham music with a landmark film screening at the Brunei Gallery of the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS), a division of the University of London. The event was organised by The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) and attended by a multinational audience of around 70.
Press Release: Following the latest bout of ferocious fighting between the Azerbaijani army and Armenian armed forces that took place between in early April, it was the Azerbaijani side that called a unilateral ceasefire. This was despite the fact that they had achieved considerable success, reclaiming three key strategic heights that had been used by the illegal Armenian military occupiers to shell Azerbaijani civilian targets – including camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees.
