Gabala – A Place in the World

This film, directed by Tom Watt, tells the story of FC Gabala as it enters the qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League for the first time. It also outlines the activities of the Gabala Sports Club, of which FC Gabala is an integral element. This includes the participation of Gabala boxers in a match against Repton Boxing Club in East London in 2014, and a football game between FC Gabala and the Arsenal Legends a year earlier. These events were organised by TEAS to raise awareness of the estimated 875,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees who are the ongoing victims of the Armenian–Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.

The film includes interviews with Tale Heydarov, Chairman, Gabala Sports Club and Tony Adams, Former England and Arsenal Captain and Advisor to Gabala Sports Club. It also features music by the Sabina Rakcheyeva Ensemble.
