An interview with Andrew Evans, artist
Andrew Evans lives and works in the Towy Valley, West Wales, and is a self-taught landscape artist who has been painting professionally since 2000. In 1994, some of the UK’s top wildlife artists gave a group exhibition in Cheltenham. Andrew attended this, and it stimulated Andrew with the inspiration and desire to start painting.
Since turning professional, Andrew has successfully built up a large international following, and exhibits both in the UK and the USA. Andrew has completed many private and public commissions for such organisations as the National Trust, Dyfed Powys Police, Aberglasney Gardens and the Black Palace International Club, Mayfair, London. In late 2011, Andrew visited Azerbaijan for the first time, where he participated in the Second Gabala International Art Exhibition entitled Art! Life! Earth!, jointly organised by the Cultural Fund of Azerbaijan and the Seoul-Baku (SEBA) Azerbaijani-Korean Cultural Exchange Association. He spoke to TEAS about his experiences and reaction to the country.
