Mark Field Interview
Mark Field MP – Chairman of the Azerbaijan All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG)
Mark Field MP is one of the leading backbenchers in the UK Conservative Party. He has been the MP for the Cities of London and Westminster since 2001, and his constituency includes the Bank of England and the world-famous 'Square Mile'. Naturally, many of Mr Field's constituents are involved in one of the world's leading banking and financial services communities. In the past, he has also been Shadow Minister for London.
Mr Field takes a special interest in economic matters, foreign trade and international development. He is currently Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPG) on Azerbaijan, in addition to Private Equity and Venture Capital; and Business Services. Given the longstanding and expanding Azerbaijani–UK bilateral economic relationship, Mr Field was the ideal candidate to head the APPG on Azerbaijan, following the UK General Election. He recently visited Baku for the first time, at the invitation of TEAS and the NATO International School of Azerbaijan (NISA). Mr Field has subsequently tabled EDM 408 entitled UN and EU Resolutions on Nagorno-Karabakh, which has garnered cross-party support in the UK parliament. TEAS caught up with Mr Field at his Portcullis House office to find out more.
